Mr. Justin B. Perri is a multifaceted and seasoned litigator with over 10 years’ experience in the Litigation Department of Steptoe & Johnson. Justin played a lead role in the national defense of complex multi-state litigation, crafting both defensive and offensive strategies for a Fortune 50 company. He also served as counsel for a wide range of corporate and institutional clients in federal and state courts across the nation at both the trial and appellate level, and is particularly well versed with best practices to manage the risk of litigation. In 2017, Justin's trial team at Blackstone secured two plaintiffs' verdicts on behalf of victims of financial fraud.
Justin has extensive experience in protecting his clients' domain spaces from infringers either seeking to capitalize on a client's trademark or mounting a phishing campaign against the client.
Justin’s national security and appellate experience includes successfully representing, before the US Supreme Court, American prisoners of war, their family members, and members of the media, who were tortured in Iraq during the 1991 Gulf War. The cases against Iraq were before the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and part of a 2009 decision by the Supreme Court of the United States. Justin’s clients were among those who successfully resolved their claims against Iraq through a state-to-state agreement in 2011.
Mr. Perri is licensed to practice in the States of New York and New Jersey (inactive), as well as the District of Columbia (inactive). He is admitted before U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, and D.C. Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
